Oakford Farm has been part of the Earle family since 1962, and from the very beginning our focus has been on farming in balance with nature.
Situated at the foot of the Cotswolds in the rolling countryside surrounding Bath, the farm benefits from calcareous soils that provide the perfect foundation for ancient and rare species of grasses and wildflowers to thrive. This unique environment not only enriches the land but also supports the biodiversity that underpins our farming philosophy.
All of our grassland is permanent pasture, made up of deep‑rooting perennial grasses and flowers. These plants draw nutrients and minerals from far beneath the soil surface, naturally enriching the pasture and locking carbon back into the ground. This system creates a resilient, self‑sustaining environment that supports our Red Ruby herd while contributing to wider environmental goals such as soil health and carbon sequestration.
Our commitment to conservation is long‑standing. Oakford Farm has been free from pesticides and artificial fertilizers since 1968, a decision that reflects our belief in farming responsibly and sustainably. By avoiding chemical inputs, we protect the integrity of our soils, safeguard local wildlife, and ensure that our products are developed in harmony with the natural world.
Today, Oakford Farm continues to build on this legacy, combining heritage with innovation to deliver beef that reflects both quality and provenance. For our wholesale partners — chefs, butchers, and retailers — this means a supply chain rooted in trust, sustainability, and authenticity. It’s a story of farming that respects the past while meeting the demands of the future.
